Only located 30 miles east of downtown Seattle,we took a trip to see Snoqualmie Falls. Snoqualmie Falls is a 268 ft (82 m) waterfall on the Snoqualmie River between Snoqualmie and Fall City, Washington, USA. It is one of Washington's most popular scenic attractions. The Snoqualmie tribes use to come to this location when tribal disagreements or conflict would come about. This is where these Indians would discuss the issue and move towards establishing peace.

Before I attended Texas Instruments FAE conference I decided to stop by Houston so I could see my Tito Froi and Tita Libeth along with my seven cousins...here is the attempt to name them all:
The Philippine tarsier, (Tarsius syrichta) is very peculiar small animal. In fact it is one of the smallest known primates, no larger than a adult men's hand. Mostly active at night, it lives on a diet of insects. Folk traditions sometimes has it that tarsiers eat charcoal, but actually they retrieve the insects from (sometimes burned) wood. It can be found in the islands of Samar, Leyte, Bohol, and Mindanao in the Philippines.

If no action is taken, the tarsier might not survive. Although it is a protected species, and the practice of catching them and then selling them as stuffed tarsiers to tourists has stopped, the species is still threatened by the destruction of his natural forest habitat. Many years of both legal and illegal logging and slash-and-burn agriculture have greatly reduced these forests, and reduced the tarsier population to a dangerously small size. If no action is taken now, the Philippine tarsier can soon be added to the list of extinct species.
The Lujan’s took a short trip to Seattle, Washington to visit our good friends Hazel and Fred. It has been over one year since we have seen Hazel though she has been one of Dulcinea’s best friends since highschool. What makes visiting good friends so fun is knowing that when you meet it is as if time never passed. Conversations pick up from where it ended a long time ago and the feeling of connection still exisit. On this trip we were able to celebrate Fred’s 28th birthday with food… LOTS of food. While were were in this rainy city we toured around to see the Space Needle, Alki Beach Park, downtown Seattle, and Lincoln park. The cool thing was that it was my first time to actually go to this west coast city and enjoy the sea food what we so long for when we are in the landlocked state of Colorado. It was an all out pig fest at Salty’s Restaurant which was an all you can eat seafood brunch extraveganza. Well till next time…
