The Last remaining fire lookout on the Front Range is perched atop this rocky knob off the Rampart Range road southwest of Sadalia. A terrific family destination, it is accessible via 1.4 mile trail with an elevation gain of nearly 1000 feet, climaxed by a final climb up a stairway to a panoramic, 360-degreee view from the tower which is manned by a friendly attendant from mid-May to October. Start from the Devil’s head campground, take water and turn around if lighting threatens.
